Adding your first subscription

Quick Start Guide

Adding a subscription to Vexly takes less than 10 seconds. Here's how:

Quick steps

1. Navigate to Dashboard > Subscriptions
2. Click the "Add Subscription" button (the big plus icon)
3. Fill in the basic information:
   • Service name (e.g., "Netflix", "Spotify")
   • Cost (the amount you pay)
   • Billing cycle (Monthly, Yearly, Weekly, or Lifetime)
   • Next billing date (when it renews next)
4. Click "Add" and you're done!

Optional details

Want to track more? You can also add:

• Category (Entertainment, Productivity, etc.)
• Family member (who uses this subscription)
• Payment method
• Custom logo or icon
• Notes for additional information

Special billing cycles

Need to track subscriptions with unusual billing?

• Every 4 weeks (like New York Times): Select "Weekly" and set interval to 4
• Every 2 years (biennial): Select "Yearly" and set interval to 2
• Lifetime purchases: Select "Lifetime" - these won't count toward your monthly costs

Auto-renew setting

The "Recurring" toggle determines if Vexly automatically updates the next billing date:

• ON (Recurring): Automatically rolls forward based on your billing cycle
• OFF: Marks as expired when the date passes (useful for cancelled subscriptions)

This setting is just for tracking in Vexly - it doesn't affect your actual subscription.
