Custom billing cycles
How to track subscriptions with non-standard billing periods like every 4 weeks
Beyond Standard Billing Cycles
Some subscriptions don't follow the typical monthly or yearly pattern. Vexly supports any custom billing cycle you need to track.
How to Set Custom Cycles
Instead of being limited to preset options, you can create custom cycles using the interval multiplier:
For a 4-week subscription (like New York Times):
- Select "Weekly" as the billing cycle
- Set the interval to 4
- Vexly will track it as renewing every 4 weeks
For biennial subscriptions (every 2 years):
- Select "Yearly" as the billing cycle
- Set the interval to 2
- Your subscription now renews every 2 years
Common Custom Cycles
- Every 4 weeks: Weekly x 4
- Every 6 months: Monthly x 6 (or use Quarterly x 2)
- Every 2 weeks: Weekly x 2
- Every 18 months: Monthly x 18
- Every 2 years: Yearly x 2
- Every 3 years: Yearly x 3
Monthly Cost Calculations
Vexly automatically converts these custom cycles into accurate monthly equivalents for comparison. This helps you understand the true monthly cost across all your different billing periods.
