Organize Your Subscriptions
Categories help you group subscriptions by type, making it easier to understand where your money goes each month.
Default Categories
Vexly provides common categories out of the box:
- Entertainment (Netflix, Spotify, Disney+)
- Productivity (Microsoft 365, Adobe Creative Cloud)
- Utilities (Phone bill, Internet, Cloud storage)
- Health & Fitness (Gym membership, Meditation apps)
- Education (Online courses, Learning platforms)
Creating Custom Categories
Want to track subscriptions your own way? Create custom categories:
- Go to the Categories page from your dashboard
- Click "Add Category"
- Choose a name (e.g., "Business Tools", "Gaming", "Family")
- Pick a color to visually distinguish the category
- Save your new category
Assigning Categories to Subscriptions
When adding or editing a subscription:
- Look for the Category dropdown
- Select the appropriate category
- If no category is selected, the subscription will appear as "Uncategorized"

- See spending breakdowns by category
- Identify which areas consume the most of your budget
